Monte-Rosa ski tour

The Monte-Rosa ski tour is a less technical version to discover Mont-Rose and is intended for larger groups or less experienced people. It will nevertheless enable to climb 2 summits of over 4,000 m high.

2020 Dates

Every Sunday from mid-March to mid-May depending on the snow conditions.Possible departures every day for private groups.

2020 Rates

If you’re alone and wishing to benefit a reduced price, you can choose to participate in a group session.

Price of the group option:
1215€ / person (guaranteed departure from 4 subscriptions)

Price of the private option:
2 participants: 1780€ / person
3 participants: 1410€ / person
5 participants: 1095€ / person

* The price includes:

  • Supervision by a mountain guide
  • half-board in the huts
  • Water during the meals
  • picknicks
  • lift passes

* The price does not include:

  • drinks, cereal bars and other personal expenses
  • your personal insurance
  • transportation to the starting point
  • your equipment
  • everything that isn’t mentioned in « the price includes »

technical and physical level

For good skiers in good physical shape. Passes and summits with technical difficulties. You need to have some experience in skitouring. Do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions about the required level.

Our assets

  • We take the bare minimum of picknicks in the backpacks, we order them in the huts.
  • Bottled water in the huts during the meals
  • We prefer small groups

Detailed program for the Monte-Rosa ski tour

The previous day
Appointment at 6.30 pm at the guides’ office.

 Day 1
Transport from St Gervais to Cervinia by car (2h30). Cable-car to Plateau Rosa. Ascent of Breithorn (4,165 m). Descent to Guides du Val d’Ayas refuge (3,400 m). Difference in height of + 300 m – 756 m.

Day 2
Descent to Saint Jacques. Off-piste skiing between Val d’Ayas and Val de Gressoney. Night at Nordend hotel in Staffal (Gressonney). Ski pass for a day.

Day 3
Off-piste skiing between Gressoney and Alagna. Ascent to Mantova refuge with sealskins.  (3,400 m).

Day 4
Ascent to Pointe Gnifetti (4,557 m) via Col du Lys. Splendid descent of 2,000-meter difference in height onto Grenzgletscher until Mt-Rose refuge (Bétemps) (2,795 m). Difference in height of + 1,157 m – 1,762 m.

Day 5
Ascent of Cima di Jazzi (3,804 m), descent to Zermatt via Findelgletscher. You will come back with the cable-cars and go down to Cervinia. Difference in height of + 1,009 m  – 2,204 m.

The differences in height for the descents are not counted up in all the “off-piste” sections. They depend on the snow conditions and on the level of the participants.

The guides could be led to change the programme depending on the weather conditions, the mountains and the level of the participants.
