Two days multipitch training in the nature reserve of les Contamines Montjoie. The first day we start on the ridge of Roches Rouges, a fairly typical climb with some easy climbing passages. The second day we climb the col de la Cicle, a multipitch route where we will use climbing shoes, but of a feasible level on a beautiful gneiss rock.

Program

Detailed program for the Multipitch training around refuge des Prés.

The day before

Appointment at 6.30 pm at the guides' office in Saint-Gervais for a briefing

Day 1
Col de la Fenêtre

Starting from the top of the Signal cable car we go towards the Col de la Fenêtre (2245m) across the ridge towards Tête de la Cicle (2552m). The start is an easy grassy and rocky ridge, and then some steeper sections and a crossing lead to the top. After a picnic break, a fairly steep path takes us to the Col de la Cicle and the end of the more difficult passages. We spend the night in the very comfortable refuge of Les Prés which is just a little down the hill.

Day 2
Eperon de la Cicle

We leave the mountain hut via the same path as the day before, to reach the start of the Eperon de la Cicle. A beautiful climb of about ten short lengths in 4b-4c. The descent is done via the same way and just like the day before we go past the mountain hut to cross under the Aiguille de Roselette, and go down again by the cable car. A beautiful climb of about ten short lengths in 4b-4c.
