Aiguille de Bionnassay is one of the most beautiful climbs of Mont-Blanc massif. A sustained and technical ascent where you will be alone with your guide and where you will progress on very beautiful highly sharpened ridges leading to the roof of Europe.

The summit represents the symbol of Compagnie des guides.

Program

Detailed program for crossing the Bionnassay.

The day before

Appointment at 6.30 pm at the guides' office.

Day 1

Departure from Miage pasture to Plan Glacier refuge, ascent to Col de Miage and night spent at Durier refuge (3,389 m). Difference in height of + 1,840 m.

Day 2

Ascent of Aiguille de Bionnassay (4,052 m), crossing to Piton des Italiens (Mont-Blanc's normal Italian way) to Dôme du Gouter (4,304 m), descent by Aiguille du Gouter and Tramway du Mont-Blanc. Near 12-hour walking.

The guides could be led to change the program depending on the weather conditions, the mountains and the level of the participants.

2025 Rates

Max. 1 person per guide. You’ll be supervised by a mountain guide.

Price of the private sessions:

€2030/ person

The price includes

  • Supervision by a mountain guide

  • Drinks, cereal bars and other personal expenses

Requirements

The crossing of the Aiguille de Bionnassay is a sustained ridge crossing requiring good mountaineering experience. The climb requires a good training and is addressed to sports people. You’ll be walking for approx. 12 hours a day, so you’ll have to prepare and practice cardio during your endurance trainings. (biking, running, …)

Also remember that you will be hiking for 2 days with an 8-kilo backpack, which significantly increases the effort required, so if you do go out, exercise with that extra weight.

You will evolve on an unmarked mountain route, you must be aware of the dangers associated with this activity (glacier crevasses, serac falls, rock falls, avalanches, very low temperatures).

Our assets

  • We carry the minimum of picnics on our backs, we have them prepared by the hut staff.
  • Water in the huts is included.

Insurance

Being covered by repatriation insurance is mandatory to participate in our activities: it must cover you in the high mountains for helicopter search and rescue.

If you do not have repatriation insurance, we can offer it at a cost of €5/day. We also offer optional cancellation insurance at a rate of €12/day. This insurance does not take consider the sporting nature of our activities and only covers people domiciled in Western Europe (details of the countries are in the brochure).

Rendezvous

Appointment at 6.30 pm at the Saint-Gervais guides' office (in the tourist office of the village) where you will meet your guide. If you cannot be present, the briefing can be done by phone. More details about how to travel by public transportation can be found on our "contact" page.
