The crossing of the Aiguille de Bionnassay is a sustained ridge crossing requiring good mountaineering experience. The climb requires a good training and is addressed to sports people. You’ll be walking for approx. 12 hours a day, so you’ll have to prepare and practice cardio during your endurance trainings. (biking, running, …)
Also remember that you will be hiking for 2 days with an 8-kilo backpack, which significantly increases the effort required, so if you do go out, exercise with that extra weight.
You will evolve on an unmarked mountain route, you must be aware of the dangers associated with this activity (glacier crevasses, serac falls, rock falls, avalanches, very low temperatures).
Being covered by repatriation insurance is mandatory to participate in our activities: it must cover you in the high mountains for helicopter search and rescue.
If you do not have repatriation insurance, we can offer it at a cost of €5/day. We also offer optional cancellation insurance at a rate of €12/day. This insurance does not take consider the sporting nature of our activities and only covers people domiciled in Western Europe (details of the countries are in the brochure).
Appointment at 6.30 pm at the Saint-Gervais guides' office (in the tourist office of the village) where you will meet your guide. If you cannot be present, the briefing can be done by phone. More details about how to travel by public transportation can be found on our "contact" page.
