The day before

Appointment at 6.30 pm at the guides' office where you will meet your guide.

Day 1
AIGUILLE DE ROSELETTE 2384M

Meeting at the beginning of the morning at Notre-Dame de la Gorge aux Contamines: departure by the Roman road to enter the nature reserve. The view is superb on the valley of la Balme and the surrounding peaks. The ascent of the Aiguille de Roselette will be done in the first part on skis, then we will finish with the skis on our backs, roped, on a beautiful ridge requiring the use of crampons. Descent to the refuge by a corridor at more than 30°.

Meals and overnight at the new Refuge des Prés: buried in the snow, it is the perfect place to spend a night in the mountains. Elevation: + 1400m / -400m Duration: 5h to 6h

Day 2
COL DE LA CICLE 2377M AND CROSSING COL DES CHASSEURS 2688M

Departure for the 2 emblematic passes above the refuge: abseiling and emotions guaranteed and a return in the early afternoon to Notre-Dame de la Gorge. Elevation: +600m / - 600m Duration: 5h to 6h

The guides could be led to change the program depending on the weather conditions, the mountains and the level of the participants.

  • Supervision by a mountain guide

  • Everything not mentioned in "the price includes"

Guiding

6 people per guide maximum.
Departure from 4 people for group sessions.
You will be supervised by a mountain guide.

Requirements

For good skiers in good physical condition, used to off-piste (class 2 level in ESF).
Do not hesitate to contact us if you have any doubt about the level required.
You will evolve on an unmarked high mountain route, you must be aware of the dangers associated with this activity (avalanches, very low temperatures, etc ...).

Our assets

  • We carry the minimum of picnics on our backs, we have them prepared by the hut staff.
  • We prefer small groups.
  • Many possible itineraries depending on the snow conditions and your level.

Insurance

To be covered by an insurance «assistance-repatriation» is mandatory to participate in our stays. If you do not have «assistance-repatriation» insurance, we can offer you one at the price of €5 per day. We also offer optional «cancellation» insurance at the price of €12 per day. This insurance does not take into account the sporting character of our stays. More information in the cancellation and assistance repatriation insurance booklets.

Rendezvous

Appointment at 6.30 pm at the Saint-Gervais guides' office (in the tourist office of the village) where you will meet your guide. If you cannot be present, the briefing can be done by phone. More details about how to travel by public transportation can be found on our "contact" page.

Technical equipment

  • Backpack with ski carrying system and sufficient capacity (± 35/40 liters)
  • Lightweight touring skis with clean sole and crampons suitable for bindings
  • Skins adapted to the width of the skis and properly glued
  • Ski touring boots. It is essential to protect the areas of friction (heels, ...)
  • Compeed and Elasto from the beginning.
  • Ski poles with large washers
  • Avalanche beacon, shovel and probe
  • Ice axe and crampons
